How much do window splashes cost?

Because of the variables in every job it is difficult to come up with standard prices. It depends on the size, the complexity, how many words, how much artwork, etc. The best thing to do is call me at (503) 777-8694 for a quote.

How long do window splashes last and are they waterproof?

Window splashes are meant to be temporary.  I use a water-based acrylic paint.  When it is dry it is rain resistant, however, it is not completely waterproof.  If a window gets hit with rain it is usually not a problem, but if a window washer starts washing and applying pressure to the paint it will break down. The best thing to do is to dust or wash around the design. In direct sunlight (no overhang) designs can last up to 6 months without fading noticeably and usually much longer. In some cases my splashes can last years if they are covered and not exposed directly to sunlight and the rain.

How do you wash them off, and do you do that?

In most cases a window washer is hired to remove the design or sometimes the client themselves will wash it off.  I can wash off my old designs if it has been previously arranged and if I am coming to paint a new design.  The cost of removal will be included in the price of the new design.  I do prefer you hire a window washer or do it yourself.  It comes off pretty easy with an ammonia/water mixture.  First soak the window, then take a new 4” razor to scrape it off. I grab the paint as I am pushing the razor into it.  Keep the paint wet as you continue to remove it with the razor blade.  After removing the majority of the paint you can switch to a standard wash and dry with a squeegee.

Can you help me with the design?

Yes! I will work with you on the spot when I arrive and dicuss the design and make suggestions as to what would be the most eyecatching and effective. I can also work with you and your own ideas but take note, I do have a wild fun cartoony style and prefer to work like that. Some of my clients don’t want pictorials (cartoons/Illustration) at all. They just want big bold letters to convey their message and that’s fine also. Again, I will work with you.

What about graffiti?

I will repaint my design over any grafitti you encounter on the design the first two times, if the problem persists you may choose not to continue to paint your window.

My store is in Eugene, what areas do you cover?

I am willing to travel from the Eugene, Oregon to Seattle, Washington down the I-5 corridor.  I also service the Dalles.  Of course, there is a charge to travel beyond the Portland/Beaverton/Vancouver metro area.
